Samsung has started producing 90 Hz OLED panels for laptops. What do they promise?
We have had OLED panels for laptops for some time, but so far they have a number of different compromises. One of them was necessary high energy consumption and so-called ghosting. But Samsung is said to have started producing 90 Hz OLED panels for laptops, which allegedly do not have these problems.
Samsung has started producing OLED panels for laptops
Because it is 90 Hz panels we have some suspicions that it will be put into work laptops rather than gaming. Laptops have to offer up to 10x better response than other OLED panels in notebooks and will reportedly be comparable to 120 Hz LCD displays. The size should be 14 inches, however, we do not yet know the resolution or aspect ratio.
If Samsung delivers what it promises, it will certainly be an interesting evolution. In our opinion, 90 Hz is absolutely ideal and sufficient for work, and working on laptops will be a bit more pleasant. However, the question remains how much such a laptop will cost. Such a panel will definitely not be the cheapest.
