Samsung gives Galaxy Watch 4 several new features with update
Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series smartwatches. The smartwatches will be equipped with a series of new functions; and we list them for you.
Galaxy Watch 4 with new features
Recently, the Galaxy Watch 4 series was announced by Samsung. The manufacturer has provided the smartwatches with Google’s Wear OS, with its own sauce and its own functions. Now Samsung has released a new update that allows users to use a range of new features.
You can now put together the perfect watch face. You can personalize it to suit your personality and lifestyle. Added to this is the new Brick watch face that gives you instant insight into your movements and activities. In addition, you can choose from new backgrounds, with live wallpapers that we know from the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, but you can also choose an extensive weather forecast on your watch face.
Samsung also gives you the option on the Galaxy Watch 4 to immediately start an app that you use often. You can also choose an animated GIF for the MyPhoto+ watch face. Another option that Samsung has added are the more playful animations that should encourage you to move more. There are also new gestures, where you can use gestures to take a call, ignore an alarm, or choose another move. Samsung says the following about this;
“Gesture control lets you do more with simple hand movements. In addition to moving your forearm up and down twice to receive calls and turning your wrist twice to reject calls or ignore alarms, the update includes a new hand gesture. This gesture serves as a handy shortcut to activate a chosen app or feature. With a simple ‘knock knock’ gesture, you can open a pre-selected app, view the workout list, turn on a light, or even create a new reminder. You can access an app or feature – your favorite or most used – without lifting a finger or pressing a button.”
Fall detection is also a new feature. This allows the watch to recognize whether you have fallen. With the Watch 4 you can now adjust the sensitivity for this and an SOS notification can be sent to up to four selected contacts in case of emergency. To train smarter, Samsung gives you 60 days of free Strava Premium. The update will now be rolled out for the Galaxy Watch 4. The Watches can be ordered from Samsung, Coolblue and Bol.com.
