‘Samsung Galaxy S22-Ultra will not get a 12 MP telephoto lens’
There are new rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. A lot has been leaked about the device, which will probably be announced at the end of February or early March 2022. For example, there are renders that show the ‘LG Velvet-like’ design and there are already rumors about some specifications. One of these rumors was the appearance of two 12 MP telephoto cameras, but this rumor is now being contradicted again.
Improved 108 MP camera
According to the mostly well-informed rumor spreader ‘Ice Universe’ the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra does not have two 12 MP telecameras, but two 10 MP telecameras. Thus, they retain the same number of megapixels as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The cameras should also offer 3x and 10x optical zoom, just like the S21 Ultra.
The main camera of the Galaxy S22 Ultra must also have a 108 MP sensor. This should be an improvement on the ISOCELL HM3 from the S21 Ultra. Improvements should be made in HDR and for photos taken in low-light conditions, among other things. The sensor size is said to be 1/1.33” and the camera will have an aperture of f/1.8.
New rumored design S22 (Plus)
Ice Universe moved on with another rumor. The Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus should resemble the iPhone 13 in terms of design. Samsung will make the screen edges of both devices symmetrical, just like the iPhones. The S21 series does not have this, here the chin (bottom) of the devices is slightly thicker than the other screen edges.
More about the S22 series
As mentioned above, several renders and leaked specifications of the S22 series have already appeared. For example, the S22 (Plus) would get a new camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 23 MP wide-angle camera and a 12 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The device should also have a new powerful processor. Samsung has teamed up with AMD for this new processor to increase graphics performance.
More renders have appeared about the S22-Ultra. You can find it in this article.
