For its generation of Samsung Galaxy S22, the Korean manufacturer should juggle the shortage of components. The European version of the phone would settle for the Exynos 2200 chip versus the Snapdragon 898 for other parts of the world.
One of the criticisms leveled against Samsung on its top of the line is the differential treatment between the markets. Europe sees models equipped with an Exynos chip suffer a power difference compared to American models better equipped with a Snapdragon. Faced with the shortage of components, the Samsung Galaxy S22 could once again separate its market. This is the information shared by the Tron leaker that goes in this direction, even if to date, Samsung has not decided anything.
Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup reportedly runs Exynos 2200 despite criticism
You just have to go to the Antutu benchmarks to realize the differences between the Snapdragon chip and Exynos. Power indicators are in favor of the American founder’s processors to the detriment of the house Samsung chips. So much so that for its new range, the manufacturer was considering offering only Snapdragon 898s. The shortage of components could reshuffle the cards according to the series of messages published on Tron’s Twitter account. According to the latter, Samsung would consider splitting its market between Snapdragon and Exynos chips.
Final decision has NOT been made as of now, but the current decision is as follows:
1. Europe: 100% Exynos 2200
2. North America regions: 100% Snapdragon 898, but Verizon is requesting to equip Exynos 2200 so Samsung is negociating

The United States, China and India for example would benefit from the Snapdragon 898 chip to function. Conversely, regions of the world such as Latin America or Europe would see models of Samsung Galaxy S22 running Exynos 2200. The global shortage of components would force the manufacturer to carefully distribute the equipment within its devices. For the Old Continent, the contribution of the new Samsung home chip could be good news. According to the first rumors, this one would be the result of a collaboration with AMD.
According to Ice Universe, the performance of this chip would greatly surpass what is offered on the Exynos 2100. As a reminder, the new range of Galaxy is scheduled to arrive by January 2022.
