Samsung Galaxy S22 series is already getting security update in August

The month of August has not yet started, Google has not yet announced the latest patch, but Samsung has already started working on it. The Galaxy S22 family will receive the August security update.

August security update for S22

Samsung is usually well on time with the rollout of a new security patch for high-end models. Now it’s the turn of the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. All three models will receive a major update with the August security update in the lead.

We expect the first information about the August update from Google next week. Then we also know which vulnerabilities in Android have been addressed. After that, (traditionally) Samsung will make the details public, so that we know what adjustments Samsung has made.

The update for the Galaxy S22 series is a big one, with the size coming out at 409.55MB. Samsung also promises that the stability of functions has been improved, but does not go into detail about what exactly has changed. In the changelog we also see that various Samsung apps are being updated.

From now on, the update will be rolled out in the Netherlands and Belgium for the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. If you can download the update, you will receive a notification on your smartphone.
