Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has to do without updates; Note 10 gets less
Samsung has made some changes to the update policy of the devices in the Note series. For the Note 9 series, the manufacturer will stop rolling out updates; Fewer updates will be rolled out for the two devices from the Galaxy Note 10 series from now on.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 without updates
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 no longer gets updates. This is apparent from the update overview of the South Korean manufacturer, from which the Note 9 has been deleted. The phone was announced by Samsung just over four years ago and has been neatly updated up to that time. Our Galaxy Note 9 review was also published in 2018 in which we were very positive about the smartphone. Now it is done with the regular updates, although it is not excluded that it will distribute a bugfix update again in the future.
There is also news about the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10+. Both smartphones are no longer updated monthly with an update. The update overview shows that Samsung will update these two devices once a quarter from now on. This will probably continue for another year, after which the updates will also stop for the Note 10.
This news does not yet apply to the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, which smartphone appeared on the market later and is in a different segment. The Note models mentioned here are not yet covered by the promised five-year updates. This was only introduced in 2021.
