Samsung has started updating the new September security update for the Galaxy S22 series this week. However, this pleasure seems short-lived, as the rollout of the update has been stopped, according to new information.
Galaxy S22: no September update yet
Last week we reported that Samsung had started rolling out the September security update for the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung was back on time with this. Now it appears that the update has been quietly withdrawn. We found out after continuing to search for updates on our Galaxy S22+, to no avail. The update can no longer be seen in Samsung’s update overview. This therefore confirms that the update has been withdrawn.
Further research shows that the update is still available for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The update is no longer available for the other two models in the S22 series; the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+. The reason for this is unknown, there are 101 reasons why Samsung has discontinued the rollout of the software update. It may be that bugs have been found, or other problems have occurred. For those who have already downloaded the update, nothing will change. As far as is known, they can use the phone as normal.
