Samsung announces new Galaxy A53 and A33: four Android updates

Samsung previously came with the Galaxy A13; now the Galaxy A33 and the Galaxy A53 have been announced. The focus is on the presence of 5G, the camera and the various options that the devices have to offer.

Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 announced

The Samsung Galaxy A series has been expanded with two new models. The Galaxy A13 was recently presented; now it’s the turn of the Samsung Galaxy A33 and the Samsung Galaxy A53. We already saw that the A5X models in particular are very popular with consumers. The two models have 5G support, have an advanced camera and offer powerful functions that we know from the Galaxy S series.

Although Samsung does not reveal the name of the processor, this is probably the Exynos 1280 from Samsung itself. The smartphones come with Android 12 and the One UI 4 skin. There is a 5000 mAh battery that can be charged with 25W. However, this is not included with the purchase of the device. They are also both released in the colors Awesome Black, Awesome Blue and Awesome Peach and have the IP67 certification.

The camera of the two devices has been expanded with different features. There is optical image stabilization, an improved portrait mode and there is AI. In addition, the night mode has been improved with which 12 night photos can be automatically taken at the same time.

Updates

When it comes to updates, Samsung is immediately clear. Samsung’s new Galaxy A series will receive four Android updates and up to five years of security updates, which is very neat in this segment.

Galaxy A53

The Samsung Galaxy A53 is a stylish smartphone with a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The quad camera offers a 64 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12 megapixel wide-angle lens, 5 megapixel macro lens and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. You can take selfies with the 32-megapixel front camera.

Samsung ships the Galaxy A53 with 6GB RAM/128GB storage space, or 8GB RAM with 256GB storage space. The price of this model is 449 euros and 509 euros. The phone is for sale from April 1 and can already be pre-ordered from Samsung. You’ll get Galaxy Buds Live for free if you order them before April 17.

Galaxy A33

The Samsung Galaxy A33 has a 6.4-inch Super-AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution as well. This delivers a refresh rate of 90Hz. The quad camera consists of a 48MP main lens (with OIS), 8MP wide angle, 2MP depth lens and a 5MP macro lens. The front camera offers a resolution of 13 megapixels.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 is available in 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage for an amount of 369 euros. The smartphone will be available from April 22. We know nothing (yet) about the Galaxy A73, which was also reported to be coming to Europe.
