Samsung announces its Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra: up to 200 megapixels and rising prices
Samsung today announced its three new high-end smartphones: the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. They quite logically succeed the S22 range and are also quite similar to this generation.
Introducing the Galaxy S23
The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ feature slightly different designs on the back. Samsung ditched the single cutout design in favor of individual cutouts for each camera sensor to make them more in line with the Ultra model. The phones are also available in new colors.
For screens, no changes. The Galaxy S23s have the same screen size as their predecessors, meaning a 6.1-inch AMOLED panel for the Galaxy S23, 6.6-inch for the Galaxy S23+ and 6.8-inch for the Galaxy S23 Ultra . The refresh rate is 120 Hz for all models and the brightness reaches 1,750 nits.
Under the hood, we find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip all over the world. This is a notable change since Europeans have until now had the right to Samsung’s Exynos chips. The manufacturer therefore chooses to now offer the Qualcomm chip everywhere.
On the other hand, Galaxy S23 has a 3900 mAh battery while Galaxy S23+ offers a 4700 mAh battery. It’s better compared to the Galaxy S22. The Ultra model has a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. This does not change from last year. Note that the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra also support faster charging speeds (45W), but the Galaxy S23 is still stuck with 25W. They all offer wireless charging and wireless charging. reverse thread.
Then comes the photo part. Only the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a new sensor. Samsung climbs to 200 megapixels (f / 1.7), with an optical stabilizer, wide-angle, laser autofocus and others. The rest of the sensors are the same as last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra – the same 10-megapixel telephoto lens, 10-megapixel periscope lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. Likewise, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have the same sensors as last year’s phones. For the front, the selfie sensor is 12 megapixels on all three models.
We can also mention support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Ultrawide band, USB-C port, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and Android 13 with the One UI 5.1 overlay.
