Safari Technology Preview: Apple releases version 174
Apple releases the 174th version of Safari Technology Preview today. This is the experimental version of Safari to allow developers to preview what’s to come in the browser.

For this release, Apple says it focused on CSS, CSS Container Queries, Layout, JavaScript, Media, Popover, Accessibility, SVG, and Web API. The tab group system works with this release, as do shared tab groups, per-site tweaks, and extensions.
Developers are encouraged to read the full changes on Apple’s website. The download is done in click here for macOS Ventura and click here for macOS Sonoma. Go to System Settings > Software Update to download the new update if you have a previous version of Safari Technology Preview already installed.
Apple’s goal with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can work alongside the existing Safari browser, and although designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.
Since version 173, Safari Technology Preview is based on Safari 17. This update includes several new features, including Feature Flags, a revised Developer menu and responsive design mode, a profile system, the addition of Web Apps, better for private browsing, support for JPEG XL and HEIC, the Live Text function for vertical recognition of text in images and videos, or even a revised text cursor that uses the system’s accent color.
