The fans of the classic role-playing game are already full of anticipation for the new edition of Diablo 2. Fraudsters try to take advantage of this fact and lure them with false invitations to alpha tests.

Publisher Blizzard warns of fraudsters. Many fans can hardly wait for the remaster of Diablo 2 and are already looking forward to immersing themselves in their beloved game in the first alpha tests. As is so often the case, fraudsters try to take advantage of this anticipation and offer access to alpha or beta tests that do not exist at all.

Attempted scams in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Blizzard’s Community Development Lead Adam Fletcher warns via Twitter from false invitations to the Alpha of the Diablo 2 remaster. Fans shouldn’t fall for sweepstakes or other offers for keys because Blizzard is up to date does not give access to alpha tests via third parties. So you should refrain from taking part in such actions and not divulge any data about yourself.

Just a new one established subreddit causes problems. The operators advertise with one Giveaway for keys for an alpha that simply doesn’t exist. Fletcher commented on the thread to educate the users and was then banned by the only admin. This now claims that Fletcher lied and that he, that one other post, have a deal with a large media outlet and get keys from them.

The fact is, the operator of the subreddit has no keys and a Blizzard employee calls the giveaway an attempted fraud.

Access to the Alpha of Diablo 2: Resurrected

The current only way to participate at the technical alpha to Diablo 2: Resurrected leads over the dedicated Blizzard website. You should stay away from all other offers. There is currently no date for the Alpha. Blizzard has only confirmed so far that there will be a single player alpha and a multiplayer stress test.
