Resident Evil Village will also release the old -apkrig console in May
Capcom has announced a series of exciting news at the Resident Evil Showcase at night. First of all, we learned that the new episode with the subtitle Village will be released on May 7 and will finally arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in addition to PCs and new consoles. The game will be upgraded to next-gen for free. The game will be released on all platforms on the same date.
The developers pleasantly surprised fans of survival horror by announcing that players can experience the Village atmosphere through a special demo version. The so-called Maiden Demo is already available on PlayStation Store and is exclusive to PlayStation 5. With a special heroine in the lead role, the player should try to escape from Dimitrescu Castle.
The content of the playable demo is independent of the full version, but is of course set in the same world. Producer Peter Fabiano has indicated on the PlayStation Blog that we can discover interesting connections here after finishing Village. Originally, it was supposed to be a visual demonstration that will allow you to explore the castle. But eventually it evolved into a short playable story with its own logical puzzles. The demo version does not contain fights and the next demo will arrive in the spring. However, this will already be available on all platforms.
As speculated last week, Capcom also introduced a new multiplayer title from the world of Resident Evil. It’s called Re: Verse and you’ll be able to try it out in a closed beta on PS4 and Xbox One from January 27-29. It is supposed to be one of the commemorations of the brand’s 25th anniversary. The game will then be available for free within Resident Evil Village and will feature well-known characters from this saga in battles for six people set in popular scenery. Whoever collects the most points in a five-minute deathmatch wins.
You can try to register for the mentioned beta until January 25. Interestingly, Resident Evil Re: Verse is aimed not only at PCs on old consoles, although it will of course work on backward compatibility also against new ones.
As for Resident Evil Village itself, be sure to check out the fresh trailer and first gameplay demo. In the new adventure, the main character Ethan Winters encounters, for example, a merchant from whom it will be possible to buy and sell things. It will also allow you to modify weapons. The title will also offer crafting, and Resident Evil 4’s inventory will once again play an important role. Everyone will have a different way of fighting.
