Remake System Shock attracts pre-orders and the latest demo -apkrig
The developers from the Nightdive Studios team have announced several interesting new features for their System Shock remake via a new update on Kickstarter. At the end of February, the authors will launch pre-orders for PCs on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store, which could indicate that the release of the full version is no longer the music of the very distant future. Those who pre-order the game can also enjoy System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for free. Like those who contributed at least $ 30 to the development of the remake in the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
Along with the launch of pre-orders, we will also see the last demo version, which will contain some hitherto unseen parts. We will visit the medical floor, look at the cyberspace that the authors demonstrated last fall, and the quartering of enemy bodies will also work. Newly recorded dubbing and lots of other features and aesthetic enhancements are to be included.
According to the developers, they continue to improve the overall experience, so it is very important that we try the playable demo again and share our impressions with them. According to them, the response of the fans to the previous demos was invaluable to them. If you would like to ask about the console version, the players will see the demo version here as well, but later. However, the team did not indicate a more precise date.
The studio also boasted new artwork, but above all we saw new videos and clips from the game. You would search in vain for them on the YouTube channel Nightdive Studios, but you can discuss them directly in the update on Kickstarter. In addition, the developers reminded that they are working on a separate VR version of System Shock 2. However, they will reveal more details about it later.
An improved version of System Shock has been available at Nightdive Studios since 2015, so work began shortly after the release of System Shock: Enhanced Edition. The scope of the intended changes, the name of the title and the technology that powered it changed. It was originally supposed to be the Unity engine. The authors now rely on Epic’s Unreal Engine. At the moment, the game is aimed at PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.
