Registration for the third dose of the vaccine is running. How to do it?
Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic announced on its Facebook page that it had started registration for the 3rd dose of coronavirus vaccine. You will find out who will be able to be vaccinated and what the procedure is in the following lines. At the same time, registration for vaccination for children older than 5 years was launched.
Who is the third dose of the vaccine for?
The third dose of coronavirus vaccine will not be given to everyone, but only to at-risk groups. You will be invited to register by SMS in the following days. If you belong to the following groups of citizens, you can expect an invitation to be vaccinated with the third dose.
Groups for which the third dose of vaccine is intended:
- on the active treatment of cancer and hematological malignancies
- after organ transplantation using medicines to weaken the immune system
- after stem cell transplantation in the last 2 years
- taking medicines to suppress the immune system (eg chemotherapy, rheumatology and other immune-mediated diseases treated with immunosuppressive therapy with or without systemic corticosteroids),
- with moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency – at the discretion of the attending clinical immunologist and depending on the nature of the disease)
- with primary or secondary aspenia
- chronic renal failure
- with advanced or untreated HIV infection
- for treatment with high doses of corticoids or other drugs that suppress the immune response
How to proceed with the third dose of the vaccine?
If you belong to one of the selected groups and want to be vaccinated with a third dose of the vaccine, follow these rules:
- You must first receive an information SMS from NCZI.
- Subsequently, you will be able to register through the portal www.korona.gov.sk or www.vakcinacia.nczisk.sk.
- After the appointment, you must go to the chosen vaccination center.
- With an information SMS, you can also come to the vaccination center without prior registration. After verification, completion of documents and consultation with a doctor, he will be able to be vaccinated.
- You can also come to your doctor with an information SMS. If your doctor vaccinates against Covid-19, he or she will be able to vaccinate you.
- If you do not receive an SMS message but are being treated for any of the above diagnoses, your doctor may issue you with a replacement vaccination card.
- You will come to the vaccination center or to the outpatient doctor with an exchange ticket and you will be vaccinated.
- Electronic registration for vaccination is not possible for patients who only have an exchange ticket.
Vaccination for children from 5 years
The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic has also launched a registration for vaccination of children over 5 years of age. Prior to vaccination, it is essential that his or her parent or legal guardian completes the application for vaccination, instruction and informed consent, and that the attending physician completes an exchange letter.

- The parent or legal guardian registers the child on the website www.korona.gov.sk or www.vakcinacia.nczisk.sk.
- After the appointment is given, the child will come to the vaccination center with the parent or legal guardian.
- It is essential that the parent or legal guardian also brings an exchange card from the attending physician. Without it, it will not be possible to vaccinate the child.
