readers very divided about fast charging of their smartphone
A slightly larger majority of our readers don’t think being able to charge their phone super fast is that important. 54 percent say that super fast charging is not an important aspect of the smartphone, versus 43 percent who think it is important. That leaves just under 3 percent who have a different opinion about it.
Fast charging
If you are tidying up your house with music on your phone and suddenly a friend texts that she wants to go to the cinema with you in fifteen minutes, then being able to charge very quickly is an advantage. You may need your phone to show your cinema subscription and after all that playing music the battery will be drained. Then a phone that charges in 10 minutes instead of 20 is very handy.
But yes, if you don’t get into that situation that often, for example because you always check that your phone doesn’t go below 20 percent, then that ten minute difference in charging time is of course nothing. This applies, for example, to Greetjanlans, who also uses a very sustainable way to charge his phone: “I always take my time with the cooperation of the solar panels.”
Obliged
pintoil has a very different view: “Super Rapid charging is simply mandatory. I just bought a 65w Gan charger from the Baseus brand.” Mandatory even! Andre.c. Groeneveld would prefer something else to be mandatory: “Fast charging is not necessary if you could easily last a whole day with a charge.” They would therefore prefer to see the batteries themselves adjusted, instead of the speed of charging.
Theo_de_Ripper doesn’t like it so much because he might have to leave quickly and then want to be able to charge quickly, he especially likes that it doesn’t take a whole night anymore: “I won’t want to go back to slow charging. Finally, it is no longer necessary to put my phone on the charger at night and no more stress about an almost empty battery.”
