ProtonMail app for Android is now open source
Proton Calendar
And Proton also wants to guarantee privacy with this app using encryption. More details about security can be found in this security model. Proton states on its blog that all calendar details, including the event name, attendees, and event details (such as location, notes, and descriptions) are fully encrypted.
Proton Calendar for Android also contains sufficient functions, so that you can easily replace the app for Google Calendar or another calendar app. For example, you can switch in the app between day, planning and month view and also put a widget on your home screen for quick insight into your appointments. The app also has light and dark modes, different time zones, and the ability to set multiple reminders on your phone and email to make sure you’re always on time for your appointments.
According to Proton, it’s easy to switch to their calendar app. This can be done in two ways. First of all you can import your existing agenda with the Easy Switch function in the settings of your ProtonMail account. You can also import a local calendar file (.ics) directly into Proton Calendar. Appointments are automatically encrypted once they are imported into Proton Calendar.
