Customers have problems with iMac M1 computer
Several customers are reporting problems with their iMac M1 on social media, forums and YouTube. In almost all cases, the computer screen is not properly mounted on the holder, so that the display appears to be sloping.
This is of course much annoying, because when you look at the screen, you see a clear difference in height between the left and right sides. youtuber iPhonedo also suffered from the problem and shows it in his latest video. His screen was very oblique.
It is unclear how widespread the problems are. Apple has not yet commented on the situation. We are therefore not sure how the problems are caused. The most logical cause is a mounting defect. After all, the screen of the iMac is fixed on a holder.
This is how you check yourself
Do you have the new iMac at home and do you want to check whether you are experiencing the problems? You do this by measuring the distance between the desk and both ends of the screen. If there is a difference, you may suffer from a crooked screen. Make sure that the computer is on a level surface.
If you are experiencing the issue, please contact Apple or the retailer. You cannot solve the problem yourself.
Have you ordered a new iMac that will be delivered soon? After arrival, check whether the screen is straight. If this is not the case, you can return the computer within the cooling-off period and request a new one.
