power cuts for automatic devices are over, back to normal
The untimely power cuts during the winter, it’s over. Indeed, in recent months, users risked seeing their automatic devices deactivate during certain time slots, in order to save as much energy as possible during the crisis. This period is now behind us: electricity suppliers have started to warn their customers of the end of the restrictions.
It was one of the big fears for this winter. In October, Enedis announced potential power cuts on its network during off-peak hours, in order to save energy, a sector then in the midst of a crisis following the war in Ukraine. In France, more than 5 million users of the Linky meter were affected by the measurement. This specifically provided for cutting off the automatic activation of certain devices, such as the hot water tank, for a maximum of 2 hours between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The deadline announced by Enedis for the end of these restrictions was May 15, 2023. It seems that this date has been brought forward by a few days. Indeed, TotalEnergies today announced the good news to its customers by email, which the editorial staff of Phonandroid was able to consult. “Enedis has reprogrammed the 4.3 million meters concerned in France”, writes the supplier. Untimely cuts are now behind us.

Total still informs its customers that some households can wait a few more days for the reactivation to take effect. If you are one of the latter, Enedis therefore has until May 15 to take the necessary measures. In addition, customers benefiting from a peak/off-peak rate will not see their bill changed as a result of this unforeseen event.
If this measure did not have a dramatic impact on the daily life of the French people concerned, it is all the same reassuring to see that the government and Enedis did not need to prosecute the latter over time. Total specifies that the device has saved a large amount of energy, essential to the proper functioning of the country during this difficult period.
