PlayStation requires game demos with new subscriptions
Sony has launched the PlayStation Plus subscription forms and requires game demos and that’s good news for you!
This week Sony officially announced that it will offer new subscriptions. These will be available in the Netherlands in June. So wait a little longer. But more has now become known as the company has introduced a new rule for game developers.
PlayStation requires game demos
If a game costs 33 euros or more, there must be a demo for gamers. They can then play the game for a certain amount of time. This is the case with the subscription called PlayStation Plus Premium. With this subscription you get access to an additional 340 games and you can also stream them via the cloud. But that’s not all, there’s access to extensive demos. You can try out the games with this. So you don’t have to buy them, you can do that after your test period. Or not.
To realize this, Sony has created a new rule for this. Those demos have to come of course. Sony therefore obliges developers to develop a demo with a time limit in addition to the game they make.
Time limit
The limit is two hours. So if you have a Premium subscription you can try the game for two hours. Developers do have time to familiarize themselves with the new rule. They have three months to put the demo online after the game has been launched. The demo must remain on it for at least one year. It is also possible, especially when playing with a storyline, to make a different kind of demo. Developers must obtain permission from Sony to do this.
