Pixel: overheating, drop in autonomy … Google deploys an update
Users with a Pixel have had the right to serious problems in recent days, to the point that their smartphone has started to overheat and that autonomy has taken a hit. Google has rolled out a patch to fix both issues.
It turns out that the problem came from the Google application, which is pre-installed on Android smartphones. Google has made a silent update to its servers which has not been very positive, hence the overheating and the drop in autonomy at the Pixel level. The group has therefore deployed another update, still at the level of its servers, to correct the situation. He noted :
We have received reports of Android devices overheating and draining battery quickly. We’ve identified the root cause of the issue, which is a recent change to the Google app backend that unintentionally caused these issues.
We have deployed a fix that should start taking effect immediately for affected users. No user action is required.
As Google indicates, it is not necessary to update your phone or an application. The patch has been deployed directly to the servers.
If you still have the problem, wait a few hours or even 24 hours for the fix to actually roll out to everyone.
