Pirates Outlaws – -apkrig
There are games that will keep you entertained for a few minutes before you close them again. And then there are games that will fill all your free time. Pirates Outlaws is one of the second types.
Drawn sabers, tuned cannons, pulled sails, rum bottles and comic caps. The pirate theme of this game literally overflows. But the core of the game lies in something else. Sure, you control a ship heading from island to island, searching haunted caves, spending money in a pub and fighting other pirates, but the game enchants you with its campaign. In it you try to get as far as possible. When you die, you have to start all over again.
What would seem tiring in another game and discourage you from playing, on the contrary, brings excitement. Your hero has several ability and weapon cards selected, and after each battle he wins, he adds a new card to the deck. You always choose from three and the variability is huge. This means that you build a completely different package for each game, which has a huge impact on gameplay. While once you focus cards on ranged attacks and area injuries, other times you focus on replenishing life with melee attacks and applying special effects.
The possibilities are literally huge and, as in other deck-building games, the greatest satisfaction comes from combining cards and abilities. With one card you increase the strength of all melee weapons, discard another card, then use what you can and with the last card you replenish your whole hand with melee weapons only. If you succeed in doing something like this, you will have a second Christmas. New cards can also be bought, but personally I prefer to use the money to improve already owned cards. Because the more cards you have in the deck, the less chance you have of actually licking them.
In addition to fights, you will also encounter events where you can get interesting bonuses at the cost of losing lives, for example. I will also mention the action points. These are consumed during the voyage, and when you run out, the ship usually sinks. Points can be added in pubs, but you have to be careful. The further you get in the campaign before death or sinking, the more gold you get. These are used to unlock new content, especially maps and heroes. The heroes are really worth it, because each of them offers a unique gameplay.
However, the game is not without negatives. Sometimes I lacked a bit of clarity, when you don’t have a list of all active abilities, you can’t go back from some screens and choose another option, etc. It all grinds after a few games. Gradually, you unlock cards that you can earn while playing. However, upgrades directly are very expensive and you invest in a new hero rather than a slight increase in lives.
Either way, Pirates Outlaws is a title you’ll love, want to explore, and fill all your free time. It has a lot of content and options.
