Paramount Plus starts in Germany

With Paramount Plus, another streaming service with global player potential will start in Germany on December 8, 2022. We explain how you can stream the service, how expensive the subscriptions are, and what the program has to offer.

The launch of Paramount Plus has been on the horizon for months. Most recently it was said that the streaming service in Germany could start as early as the beginning of 2022 – from the end of March to be precise.

As you know, that didn’t work. But at least Paramount Plus is supposed to be launched in Germany this year.

When will Paramount Plus start in Germany?

According to the official press release, Paramount Global’s streaming portal wants to “climb the peak of streaming”. The triumphal procession is to take place from December 8, 2022. In addition to Germany, Paramount Plus will also start in Austria and Switzerland.

The program should then be accessible in all three markets via the URL “paramountplus.de”. You can also access the content via mobile devices and stream it on supported connected TV devices – for example via the platforms from Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung and Roku.

That’s how much the Paramount Plus subscription costs

When Paramount Plus launches in Germany, there will be a free trial subscription that users can use to test the offer for seven days. If you don’t cancel it, a paid subscription will automatically start after the trial period.

Officially, the monthly subscription costs 7.99 euros. For an annual subscription you have to pay 79.99 euros. Sky customers who have booked “Cinema” have an exclusive advantage – they stream the Paramount Plus content free of charge as part of their Sky package.

Film and series highlights

Paramount Plus is promoting its launch in Germany with a wide range of blockbusters, series and local and international originals from CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and Showtime, among others.

One of the Hollywood highlights is “Top Gun: Maverick”. This is the sequel to the popular 80’s action film Top Gun starring Tom Cruise, who also stars in the sequel. The film is slated for release later this year on Paramount Plus.
