our first impression at the MWC
Samsung has the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Oppo has the Oppo Find N2 Flip. We have been able to play with the new device, and we share our first impression in our Oppo Find N2 Flip preview.
Oppo Find N2 Flip
Oppo has already announced the new Oppo Find N2 Flip a moment before the start of the Mobile World Congress. At the Mobile World Congress, the Oppo Find N2 Flip gets all the attention. At the time of writing, it is known that the telephone will not come to the Netherlands, but who knows whether that will change in the long term. With the Motorola Razr 2022 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, we know that there is definitely a market for foldable smartphones.
Despite that, we took a quick look at the new Oppo Find N2 Flip. The smartphone is a nice lightweight at 191 grams and fits well in the hand. If we place it (unfolded) next to the OnePlus 11, then the Oppo is not immediately much larger. The dimensions are 166.2 x 75.2 x 7.5 millimeters. It must be said that the 11 is not the smallest device. When folded, the Oppo is nice and compact, because you hand in about half the length. This will of course make it thicker again, with a thickness of 16 millimeters.
Screens
The Oppo Find N2 Flip has a 6.8 inch AMOLED screen. The device is nicely closed when it is closed, so without a large opening. You will of course feel the fold in the screen, but do not experience it as disturbing. Oppo’s smartphone feels solid and looks good.
Meanwhile, the size of the external screen is also growing. We also see that with the Find N2 Flip. A large part of the cover on the top is taken up by the 3.26 inch cover display. It is a clear, beautiful image that allows you to navigate directly to the weather, your notes, alarm clock or camera, for example. In terms of possibilities, I find the external screen a bit limited. It would of course be great if you could also use it for other apps. Who knows, that might be something for the future. Oppo informs DroidApp that the functionality will be expanded in the future.
The device offers an additional section with settings for the cover display in the settings. For example, you can choose from (live) wallpapers and animations, adjusting the style. You can also set which quick replies you want to receive when you receive a message. You can type these out yourself, so you don’t just have to use the preset texts.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip can also be used at an angle of 45 degrees, just like its competitors. This means that you can tilt the device halfway. This is useful, for example, to put it down to take a photo or make a video call.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip is also equipped with Android 13 and has the ColorOS skin, which has the well-known features. The price in the United Kingdom amounts to an amount of 950 euros. Whether a arrival to the Netherlands is possible, we have to wait and see for now. For the time being, those plans are not there, the manufacturer informs DroidApp.
