Oppo will stop supplying chargers with new devices
After Apple and Samsung and several other brands, Oppo is also taking the same step; the delivery of a charger stops. From the beginning of next year, chargers will no longer be included if you purchase a new Oppo smartphone.
Oppo without charger
In the past week, Oppo has announced its new Reno 8 series. The manufacturer simply releases that device with a charger, but this will change in the future. In a conversation with colleagues from Android Police, a CEO of Oppo says that the charger will no longer be supplied with “various models”. It is not yet clear which devices will be delivered without a charger. With this, Oppo follows the choice of other manufacturers; such as Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple. It is not clear whether other brands that fall under the same parent company as Oppo, such as OnePlus, will also take this step.
Although all these manufacturers officially state the reason that this reduces the electrical waste mountain, this is questioned. After all, it is also a revenue model for the manufacturers, because users, for example, do not have a fast charger at home and want to make use of this option. Because Oppo now supplies chargers that are difficult to obtain separately, Oppo wants to change this and also offer the chargers in places where people can go for an Oppo phone.
