Oppo shares new features from ColorOS 12 with first timetable
Android 12 will not only have new features by itself. Manufacturers will also provide the skin on their own devices with the necessary new ones. Oppo shares the details of the new ColorOS 12, based on Android 12.
ColorOS 12 in the new
Oppo has shared the details about the new ColorOS 12. This new skin is based on Android 12. It seems that Oppo is not following Google’s steps with the Material Theme. Instead, more natural shapes are chosen and we also see many similarities with the previous editions of ColorOS.
The new version should make multitasking easier and increase readability. This should be reflected in switching between apps in full screen, and the apps in separate (floating) windows. Oppo also has Cross Screen, which improves the connection between PC and smartphone. We also see the new Smart Sidebar 2.0 with new tools such as quickly playing songs on the internet or comparing prices. The new ‘Car Screen Projection’ option should make it easier to connect the smartphone to the car.
Furthermore, Oppo promises that many animations have been improved and that everything is faster and faster smoother feels. This is partly due to the various performance improvements that have been made in ColorOS 12. Another improvement relates to privacy, where users can remove the location data before sharing an image. There will also be Omoji selfies where you can make a character of yourself and share it with others.
Rollout
Oppo also immediately shares information about how and when we can expect the update. Please note that these dates only apply to China for the time being. When we have the information for this, we will update the Android 12 update summary.
In October the update (in China) is being rolled out for the Oppo Find X3 Pro and X3. In November the Find X2 Pro and Find X2 can expect the update, as can the Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro. The A93 gets the update in December. In the first half of 2022, we will see the Reno 10X Zoom, Reno 4 Series A93s, A92s and A53. Now just have to wait for the Dutch data.
