OnePlus withdraws Android 12 update for 9 and 9 Pro after problems

It started so rosy last week; the update to Android 12 appeared for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. However, the joy is short-lived, because the update with OxygenOS 12 has been withdrawn.

Android 12 update rollout paused

OnePlus and Android version updates, it’s not a happy combination. The withdrawal of a released version update often happens at the Chinese manufacturer. Even now we can share this news. OnePlus has shut down the update machine for the update to Android 12 for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. The update was released last week for the two models from the high-end series, after several test versions were previously rolled out.

The cause for the update to stop rolling out is due to the issues noticed by several users. Exactly what problems these are is not shared. As far as we know, the update has not yet been rolled out in the Netherlands and Belgium. According to OnePlus, this release has been discontinued and a new version of the update will be released “as soon as possible”.

The update to Android 12 also brings OxygenOS 12, the latest version of its own skin. The influence of Oppo’s ColorOS is extra visible here, because different elements from the two skins have been merged. This is not received equally positively by everyone. However, the chance that something will be changed about this is virtually excluded.
