OnePlus in cooperation with Hasselblad has prepared a new function for photography
One of the biggest innovations associated with the OnePlus 9 smartphone series is the cooperation with the company Hasselblad. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s one of the most prestigious companies in the history of photography. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has joined forces with Hasselblad and created a new shooting mode. AndroidAuthority has published all other information.
What has this cooperation prepared for us?
First and foremost, Hasselblad’s collaboration focuses on more accurate color rendering. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones will be equipped with the new XPan, which will give the photos taken a touch like from Hasselblad cameras. Users should experience features that are directly iconic for well-known cameras.
The new feature will be added to devices in the latest Oxygen OS 11.2.9.9 firmware for OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. Other smartphones, such as the OnePlus 9R, will not receive this new feature. The update was released yesterday, but it’s sure to take a while for it to reach your device. As soon as you receive the update, you will find the option “XPAN” in the camera application after opening the list of shooting modes. When clicked, XPan mode launches on the OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone to enhance your photography experience.
Shooting with the OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone and “XPAN” mode
With the new mode, you can shoot panoramic images in a ratio of 65:24. If necessary, the resolution can be switched to a 4: 3 aspect ratio. During XPan shooting, the screen border changes to a “viewfinder”. It makes you feel like you’re taking pictures through an old Polaroid. Icons for switching from 30mm or 45mm focal length are also displayed on the screen, and various color modes are available for selection.

If you shoot with a focal length of 30 mm, you will capture 12 MP images with an ultra-wide camera. The second 45 mm focal length uses the main lens and the images also have 12 MP. Therefore, the image resolutions will be 7,552 x 2,798 and 7,872 x 2,916 pixels. The system, of course, compresses these images. Still, photos are sharp, thanks to the use of a 48 MP and 20 MP camera.
This innovation will probably not be a decisive factor in the purchase of these smartphones, but those who already own this device will certainly enjoy the cooperation with Hasselblad.
