On this day all good intentions fall (yes, yours too)
If you still planned to eat less sugar, your child will gain weight with homemade cookies. Well, of course you can’t refuse. Fortunately, you are not the only one who has lost a good intention.
Meal delivery company Deliveroo compared this year’s figures with the past two years and made a prediction based on that. What seems? On January 2, customers will order healthy and vegan meals en masse, but from January 18, that salad will have to make way for a greasy snack. And booze, because delivery drivers sell no less than 80 percent more alcohol than the week before.

‘It what-the-hell-effect’
Ingrid Steenhuis, professor of prevention at the VU University in Amsterdam, thinks it is not surprising that good intentions quickly fall through. “What you see is that people start in good spirits with an intention, but give up at the first slip. This is also called it what-the-hellcalled effect. While slips like that are part of the process when you try to change something,” she says RTL News. “It is important to have concrete steps, otherwise you will stumble over the first bump.”
