On Affinity Photo, the M1 Max does better than the Radeon Pro W6900X
the M1 Max again shows his silicon muscles. Andy somerfield, chief developer on the Affinity Photo editing app, found that the performance of the MacBook Pro equipped with an M1 Max was superior to that of a machine equipped with a Radeon Pro W6900X, knowing that the TDP of the Radeon is of 300W, i.e. 4 times the TDP of the M1 Max. As a reminder, a Radeon Pro W6900X is billed around 7,000 euros.
Tea # M1Max is the fastest GPU we have ever measured in the @affinitybyserif Benchmark photo. It outperforms the W6900X – a $ 6000, 300W desktop part – because it has immense compute performance, immense on-chip bandwidth and immediate transfer of data on and off the GPU (UMA). pic.twitter.com/iPg3L56y2u

The M1 Max actually gets the best scores ever seen on the Affinity Photo software, 32,891 in Raster (32,580 points for the Radeon), a performance that the developer explains by the enormous bandwidth and the choice of memory. unified between CPU and GPU. The M1 Max also shatters the Vector and Combined benchmarks. These “feedbacks” only pile up on the many positive opinions concerning the performance of MacBook Pro under M1 Max chip.
