The network search law could have real ramifications for a messenger for the first time. The Federal Ministry of Justice has initiated two proceedings against the WhatsApp alternative Telegram, as confirmed by a spokesman in Berlin. There would be no “easily identifiable and immediately accessible reporting channel” for potentially criminal content that is shared in Messenger. In addition, the lack of naming an authorized recipient for German courts is criticized.

Telegram: Regulation of the messenger hardly possible
