Nothing promises Android 13 for Nothing Phone 1 until next year
The update policy at Nothing will not be given extra priority after the announcement of the Nothing Phone 1, it turns out. New information shows that we will not see Android 13 for the stylish smartphone until early next year at the earliest.
Nothing Phone 1: Android 13
If you secretly thought, a new smartphone, which will soon get Android 13, then you are not in the right place at Nothing. The brand’s latest phone, the Nothing Phone 1, currently comes with Android 12, over which the manufacturer has laid its own Nothing OS layer. This is a custom skin that is close to Android itself. Secretly there was the hope among users that for this reason and therefore the few adjustments, the Android 13 update would not be long in coming, but that now seems to be praised differently.
The brand of former OnePlus founder Carl Pei has now shared more news about when the update will be rolled out. He says the following about this;
“We are always working hard to improve the Phone 1 user experience. To ensure this, regular operating system updates will be made available. Android 13 will be launched in the first half of 2023 for users of the Nothing Phone 1. Before we release this update, we want to align the software upgrade with the hardware of Nothing. We will keep you updated with more information.”
The fact that the Nothing Phone 1 will only receive the update to Android 13 in the first half of 2023 is a broad concept. This could be January, but it could also be in June. It is not clear from the news of Nothing in which direction we should now think.
