Nintendo Switch: the price drop only for Europe

Europeans are in luck with the recent price drop for the Nintendo Switch. The price of the console has gone from € 299 to € 269. But this price change does not apply in other regions and Nintendo has no plans to do so anyway.

No price reduction for the Nintendo Switch outside of Europe

“The trade price adjustment concerns only the European region. There are no plans to change the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for Nintendo Switch models in the US ”, said a spokesperson for the group.

It is good to note that the Switch with an OLED display is approaching. In France, the price of this model will be € 349.90, which made a need for a price reduction on the standard Switch. Of course, as Nintendo points out, there are currency conversions to consider as well, so while it may be disappointing for some to hear that there won’t be a price drop on the standard Switch outside of Europe it has a certain degree of logic.

The OLED Switch will be available from October 8. It is possible to pre-order it from several brands: Amazon, Fnac, Cdiscount or Baker.
