Nintendo could make the dream come true
Mario Kart is available on numerous platforms – from the SNES to the Nintendo 64 to the Nintendo Switch and, more recently, to smartphones. The PC doesn’t come to mind, but Nintendo is apparently working on a PC version.

Nintendo brought Mario Kart Tour to Android smartphones and iPhones in 2019. For many fans, this was the opportunity to play the game with slimmed-down controls and tend to be simpler and shorter routes, but also in a more manageable and, above all, free form. Particularly interesting: The game’s service game character, thanks to which Mario Kart Tour has been constantly supplied with new characters, items and routes since its release. Some of the courses have already made their way back to the main platform and have become part of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe track DLC.
However, a platform has been missing so far, PC players have so far been left empty-handed. But there are indications that this is changing.

Mario Kart on PC: dataminers have found clues
As user MondoMega reports on the ResetEra platform, the mobile offshoot of the Mario Kart series recently received an update. In terms of gameplay, there are few notable changes, so officially Nintendo is still holding back. With data mining, i.e. tearing apart the game files, you can, however come across interesting things.
Not only are there hints of new tracks, a battle mode, anti-gravity, connectivity with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and more, but there may be a Windows version coming soon. Mouse and keyboard could be supported become (source: ResetERA). There are no concrete references to controller control, but this would be obvious.
The game could come to PC in two emulation modes: either Android app support in Windows 11 via the Microsoft Store in conjunction with Amazon’s Appstore, or via Google’s initiative to bring Android apps to Windows 10 and 11. However, concrete information is still missing.
Whether only Mario Kart Tour will make it to the PC or whether the whole thing will be expanded is unfortunately still in the stars. There is no official statement from Nintendo about upcoming plans.
Nintendo is one of many studios that are not part of gamescom this year:
Is Mario Kart Tour Worth It?
It is clear that a smartphone version cannot compete with one for the console, but the mobile game never gets boring.
In multiplayer mode, you can challenge drivers from all over the world and then compete against up to seven of them. In multiplayer races it is possible to run changing races – both the speed and the number of item slots can be individually adjusted.
If you look at the reviews on Google Play, they are quite positive.
“It’s a great game with lots of characters, vehicles, gliders, missions and more. There are also many tour seasons and updates as well as countless rewards, which makes the game fun for a long time. The only thing that bothers me are the prices for the rubies. Otherwise, the game is a must for every Mario Kart fan,” writes Nexo, for example (source: Google Play).
