New WhatsApp: finally rid of unwanted photos?
A new privacy feature
WhatsApp frequently develops updates geared around user privacy and protection. Recently, it was the discussion groups that had benefited from a nice brush stroke. This time, the application should integrate a higher level of protection for individual conversations.
It is WABetaInfo who spotted potential security additions for individual chats. According to this media, specializing in WhatsApp news, the application is preparing the deployment of its version 2.23.8.2 on the program Google Play Beta.
Lock a specific conversation
According to the first information, the functionality will allow in particular to lock the chats thanks to the biometric fingerprint of the user. For now, the specifics of this change are not yet known. All this is still under development, so we will have to wait for the first deployments to find out more about the terms of use.
In addition to locking specific conversations, the future WhatsApp update should also allow you to block automatic downloading of media in your Gallery. It would seem that the images from the locked conversations thus remain in their place, a trick which would prove practical to no longer have uninteresting photos in the middle of your shots!
Well, for now, this update is only available in beta form, for members of the Google Play Beta program. Until it is made available to the general public, you can always take a look at WhatsApp and improve your security! We have compiled a short guide for you to shield the security of your account.
