Nothing Phone (1)
The Nothing Phone (1) is an upcoming smartphone from a new brand. On March 23, Carl Pei, one of the former founders of OnePlus, announced that he wanted to launch a new phone. And this with his new tech company ‘Nothing’. A company that we know, among other things, from the Nothing Ear (1). According to Carl Pei, the phone should mainly focus on a well-functioning ecosystem and innovation.
Furthermore, it was previously stated that the Nothing Phone (1) will probably have a price tag of about 500 euros, and that the device is expected to run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. This is an octa-core processor with a 2.4 GHz main core, three 2.36 Ghz cores and four (economical) 1.8 Ghz cores. You can read more about the Nothing Phone (1) in this article. However, images of the upcoming smartphone have now also surfaced.
We knew that Nothing is a tech company, but we didn’t know that fanatic birdwatchers also worked there. Nothing leaves on their own images Twitter account namely see new teasers of the Nothing Phone (1) in which not the device, but birds seem to play a leading role. We’ll go through the photos with you.

In the first picture, Nothing shows us two budgerigars in love, or the ‘Melopsitracus undulatus’. With the photo, the company states: ”Curious? So are they.” In other words: “Curious? They are too”. The birds seem to have more eyes for each other, but we’ll take that for granted.
However, if we take a closer look at the smartphone itself, we see part of the side and back of the phone. The sides seem to be made of aluminum and have a flat ‘iPhone 12-like’ design.

In the second photo we see a lot more of the device. Among other things, we discover a large part of the transparent back and we see the camera island of the Nothing Phone (1). It concerns two cameras: rumored to be a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP wide-angle lens. Those rumors also spoke of a 2 MP depth sensor, but we do not see it in the images.

All in all: striking design with iPhone 12 touch
The teasers of Nothing already give us a good idea of the upcoming smartphone. On the one hand it is nice to see, but on the other hand it is a shame that the tension for the official presentation decreases a bit in this way. The images do show a striking back, which we want to learn more about soon.
Still, you can’t help but notice that the Nothing Phone (1) resembles the iPhone 12 because of its flat sides and its camera island. However, this was and is certainly not an ugly device, and because of the striking back, Nothing seems to be his. to have found their own ‘touch’. The Nothing Phone (1) has to be announced on 12 July and we can admire the smartphone in its entirety for the first time.

Update 06/16: new photos and videos
German journalist Lorenz Keller has on Twitter several images and a video of the Nothing Phone (1) shared. You’ll also find photos and videos from the phone that others have shared. Keller attended a presentation of Nothing in Switzerland. During the event, the phone was fully exposed, including the back.
Again striking are the similarities with the iPhone 12, but also the back that lights up with some parts. We are not 100% sure if the clear design is used to show how Nothing designed the inside of the phone. This may be the final design.
