New iOS 16 update: this changes
On September 12, Apple released a new major software update. Several times a year, different functions are added to the smartphones during such an update. Do you have an iPhone 14, an iPhone 14 plus or an iPhone 14 Pro (Max)? Then this software is automatically installed on your smartphone.
On which phones can you download the new software?
The iOS 16 update mainly tackles your unlock screen. For example, you can personalize your unlock screen by adding your most important gadgets. You can download the new software for free on the following iPhones: iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone X(R and S), 11, 12, 13 and 14.
Do you have an iPhone that is older than 2017? In this case, you cannot perform this free update. You do get minor updates that optimize security. Apple phones older than 2016 will no longer receive new features and updates.
Which features have changed?
Have you downloaded the new update yet? You may have noticed that your lock screen has been modified. You can completely personalize it by adjusting the color, but also the font and your digital clock. Or create different home screens. The receiving of notifications has also changed. First, the notifications were at the top of your screen. These are now at the bottom of your unlock screen.
Do you want to share photos? This is easy from October with the iCloud family option. In this shared photo library, anyone can make changes that are seen by all participants.
Are you working on your fitness? Your daily activity will now be tracked in the Fitness app. This was previously only possible on your Apple watch.
