New cabinet wants free childcare for working parents
The reimbursement for childcare will be increased in steps to 95 percent for working parents.

The complicated childcare allowance will be abolished, so that you as a parent can no longer be confronted with (possibly) high recoveries. Instead, there will be different financing, childcare will be free for lower incomes and ‘many times cheaper’ for middle and upper middle incomes. This change will take place in stages, because if childcare becomes free or a lot more affordable overnight, childcare institutions will not be able to cope with the enormous influx. “It will take a few years before the system is adjusted,” an insider told Het Parool. “And you have to keep in mind the suction effect.”
