Netflix unveils profile transfer, in connection with account sharing
Netflix announces the introduction of a novelty called ” Profile Transfer “. This transfers their personalized recommendations, history, My List section, saved playthroughs of games, and other settings to a different account.
Here is what Netflix says:
People move. Families are growing. Relationships evolve. Life changes, but your Netflix experience should stay constant. Today we’re launching Profile Transfer: This feature allows people who use your account to transfer a profile when they sign up for their own subscription, retaining their personalized recommendations, history, roster, saved games, and other settings. .
The profile transfer feature is available today. You will receive an email as soon as it is actually available on your account. To transfer a profile, click on your avatar in the top right, select the “Transfer profile” option from the drop-down menu that appears, then follow the instructions. You can disable profile transfer at any time in your account settings.
Although Netflix does not say so publicly, this feature is intended to combat account sharing. The streaming service is doing everything possible so that many people will soon be forced to have their own Netflix account. A crackdown on account sharing is one of the main directives of the company, which seeks to increase the number of subscribers. Netflix has estimated that over 100 million households access its service through shared accounts.
