Netflix cancels Resident Evil, the series will not have a season 2
Netflix will not give another chance to resident Evilseries is simply canceled and will not have the right to a season 2. There was initially a long-term project, but the bad reviews and the audience did not satisfy the streaming service.
resident Evil debuted on July 14 on Netflix, shortly after the release of the second part of season 4 of Stranger Things. It turns out the series was poorly received by critics and fans alike. The adaptation centers on Albert Wesker (played by Lance Reddick), a franchise heavyweight resident Evil, and her daughters Billie and Jade. The narrative is split into two timelines, one taking place in South Africa, where the Umbrella company has established a new headquarters, and the other more than a decade in the future, where the world has been overrun by the zombies. Alongside Lance Reddick, the cast includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez.
The series was to take up the atmosphere of the games resident Evil. The first game was released in 1996. Since then, the various installments of the franchise have recorded more than 100 million sales worldwide. Additionally, the film franchise has grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide. There are also animated films, manga, novels and attractions in theme parks.
