NAY Android Roka 2021: Introducing the Headphones category

Voting and rating of the best Android devices for the past year NAY Android Roka 2021 is here again. We will be looking for the “best” from the world of Android together with the readers of the MôjAndroid.sk website for the twelfth time. This year, the facilities are applying for placements in nine categories. Great in the final draw awaits you, as well as in previous years, in the final draw winnings and rewards. We have 22 of them ready for you this year.

To make your decision easier, we will gradually introduce all the competition categories. Today it is a category Headphoneswhere you will find the best headphones for the last year.

This year, Samsung introduced up to two models that have Active Noise Canceling. This feature has become the most prominent in this year’s Galaxy Buds Pro, but also in the cheaper version of the Galaxy Buds2. This year we looked at both models and Galaxy Buds Pro came out as the winner (stronger ANC). Although they are more expensive (from € 130 at Heureke), they offer advanced features (IPX7 water resistance, 360-degree audio support via Dolby Atmos) and look better. Both models do not lack ambient mode or amplification of ambient sounds.

When it comes to sound quality, you can be sure that you will get the best that exists on the market. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro attacks the more expensive Apple AirPods Pro with sound quality and processing. That’s all there is to it. Bass fans will definitely be satisfied.

They last 5 hours with ANC or 7 hours without it and the box charges them about three times. In addition to the standard USB-C charging, you can also charge them via wireless charging, for example using reverse charging from your mobile phone.

Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earbuds 2 S

Xiaomi headphones are among the most affordable due to their price and equipment. Don’t expect advanced features like water resistance that allow you to swim with them or suppress ambient noise. However, some features surprise you – for example, they support wireless charging. The equipment also includes support for a voice assistant or LDAC codec, which is not supported by the above-mentioned models from Samsung. There is also a mobile application that allows you to update software, for example.

In terms of sound quality, the headphones play rather average. However, their endurance is slightly higher than the average in this price category. You get about 4 and a half hours on one charge and the box charges the headphones 4 times. Charging the box takes about an hour – for both wireless and wired charging.

In-ear headphones fit great and are comfortable, which is not always a matter of course, for example, models from Samsung can cause pain in your ears.

This year, a new model of flagship headphones from Sony also came on the scene. However, the WF-1000XM4 is one of the most expensive in-ear headphones you can buy. The AirPody Pro from Apple (WF-1000XM4 is around € 300) will also cover the price. However, you get the best ANC you can find with this type of headphones. However, Sony has known this for a long time with ANC and also dominates the Headphones category.

However, the headphones have a special and rough design that does not have to fit everyone’s ear. The design is so that your headphones can play for up to 8 hours on a single charge. The box will give you two more charges.

When it comes to sound quality, Sony has a lot to offer. The sound is lively and does not lag behind in any element, but you can say that the bass is slightly stronger here, but if it bothers you, you can correct it with an equalizer directly in the application.

Huawei FreeBuds 4

Like every mobile phone manufacturer, Huawei has its own wireless headphones. Even in the premium category. The FreeBuds series has become world-famous for its advanced features and good sound quality.

ANC is a matter of course, but due to the semi-open shape of the headphones, we can not talk about such a quality ANC as in the case of Sony or Samsung headphones. The sound is nice, clear, but its volume is not significant, so the headphones sound at 60-70% volume like the others at 50%.

The battery in this model is rather average – about 4 hours, but with the box you can extend this life to 22 hours. That’s a decent value.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EQ

Do you know the Bang & Olufsen brand? It may be less well-known in our country, but it is proud of its luxurious headphones and stylish design. After all, this model mainly attracts the look. In the price category up to € 400, we can still find better-sounding pieces.

Beoplay EQ are closed headphones with ANC present. I will also offer wireless charging as well as the competition. They also support the latest technology – Bluetooth 5.2, SBC, AAC and AptX Adaptive codecs.

The battery is a better average – 6 to 7 hours of play on one charge (with ANC, without ANC) and the box will provide about three charges. Overall, the endurance of these headphones is somewhere at the level of 20 hours.

Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless

Sennheiser specializes mainly in headphones and studio headphones. However, they also tried some deeds with in-ear headphones. This is one of them, and it’s basically an improved version of the cheaper CX True Wireless headphones, which lack ANC.

The attribute Plus can be called “Plus ANC”, but thanks to this feature, the price tag of this model will jump 50 € higher, just to stop somewhere around 170 €. For that price, you get decent headphones that can compete with other models in this price range. Just their design is a bit cheap and big.

The headphones will offer endurance at the level of 6 hours and the box will offer four more charges, thanks to which the total endurance will climb to 24 hours. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.2, aptX, SBC, AAC codecs and in addition to ANC also ambient mode.

Creative Outlier Air V3

You can also get this particular model in our competition. Headphones from the well-known manufacturer Creative have a creative design. Unlike most headphones, where you open the box and remove them, Creative headphones are in a sliding “drawer”. This form is very convenient and you will get used to it very quickly.

The Creative Outlier Air V3, together with the above-mentioned Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 S, is one of the most available in our survey. However, this does not mean that they lack any functions. The headphones support both active noise cancellation (ANC) and ambient mode. You will also find more than 40 equalizer presets in the application, or you can adjust it yourself.

The headphones have above-standard endurance – up to 10 hours on a single charge and the box charges them four times, for a total of up to 40 hours on a single charge. There is also support for Bluetooth 5.2, SBC or AAC. We can even find IPX5’s increased water resistance here.

Bose QuietComfort 45

Headphones from another professional company, which also focuses on studio headphones. Bose QuietComfort 45, like their predecessors, are primarily focused on quiet and undisturbed listening to music.

Thus, the presence of ANC is not surprising. The headphones are very comfortable to wear thanks to the large earbuds that sit around the ears. The headset supports Bluetooth 5.1, AAC and SBC codecs. The headphones offer two connection options: Bluetooth or via a 3.5 mm jack.

The headphones last for one charge is around 24 hours per charge. It’s a pity that there is no way to turn off ambient mode or ANC – at least one of them must always be running.
