It is not known exactly when they are expecting their second child. Last year, Naomi van As opened a book about motherhood in Kek Mama. After she had ended her sports career – and Sven was still busy skating – she mainly took on the caring role. “At busy times, he misses her more now than when she was a baby. Those two are absolutely crazy about each other,” she said at the time. “I used to worry about that. What if they see each other so little? That turned out to be unnecessary. No idea how it is possible, but at the big milestones he was there every time: crawling, walking, talking, those things.” After the Winter Olympics in Beijing, Sven’s skating career came to an end.
