‘My partner always wants to go cycling on holiday’
Sorting out the holidays based on the presence of cycling routes or putting your child’s upbringing on your shoulders as standard. It’s give and take, that partnership as parents.
Kelly (31): “At our house, holidays are not chosen on the presence of the sea, beach or number of hours of sunshine, but on the presence of cycling routes. Preferably on mountain roads. My husband is a cyclist. Cycling enthusiast actually. The last holidays we went to southern Spain, by car. Because: his racing bike.
Cycling enthusiast
The place was ideal for all of us, as there were ‘climbers’, but also a swimming pool and the sea. Then Tim could cycle his round in the morning and Sofie and I went to the swimming pool at our apartment. The temperature was bearable that early. In the afternoon we had an extensive lunch and drove to the beach.
But now Tim has something else in mind. This summer he would like to go to Norway. There seem to be fantastic winding and mountain routes through rugged nature. But Scandinavia also means: chance of bad weather, cold and rain. I really wish him everything, but that goes too far for me.”

Honestly we will share everything
Femke (29): “My friend Bas is an idol of motocross, almost all his money and time are spent on it. I let him do his thing, although the upbringing of our child often ends up on my shoulders. It makes a difference: I can practice my sport at home in the bedroom from a mat. Before I became a mother, I was a yoga teacher. Now I only do yoga at times that suit me. On the other hand, I go on a yoga retreat for a week twice a year. Delicious. And then Bas takes care of our toddler without a murmur.”
