‘My boyfriend’s ex was a master at ironing. I’m going to a dry cleaner’
Life is complicated enough, so Jantien takes the shirts to the local dry cleaners with peace of mind.
Jantien (39): “My friend JP’s ex was a master at ironing. She even ironed all the underpants and kitchen towels. Not me, I’m a folder. Works great with rompers, sweatshirts and wool jumpers, just not shirts. JP is an accountant and has to go to work every day in a suit.

Ironing Arts
When we first moved in together, in love as I was, I offered to iron his shirts from now on. After all, I worked much less than him. But what an incredible job! It took me more than fifteen minutes to make one shirt and even then there were more folds in it than in an average origami.
That had to be done better and it turned out to be the case: our dry cleaner has a fantastic ironing service. For 1.50 euros each they ensure that all shirts hang in the closet without wrinkling. According to JP, who knows nothing about this service, because I immediately throw the iron hangers and plastic in the wheelie bin when I get home, I am not inferior to his ex in terms of ironing skills. I receive the compliment with love.”
