MWC 2021: the GSMA confirms the organization of a physical fair for the month of June
The GSMA It had already announced last year, but the uncertainties surrounding the evolution of the pandemic had made analysts cautious. This time, the organizing company of the MWC (Mobile World Congress) has just confirmed once and for all that the 2021 edition will be held in June in Barcelona, and that 50,000 people were expected (which is still half the 2019 edition).
This bet is all the more risky as the vaccination campaign is experiencing many failures in Europe, the labs having great difficulty in honoring their delivery contracts. At best, the MCW 2021 show will be held anyway under very specific sanitary conditions. Guests will indeed have to present themselves with a negative PCR test, knowing that this same test will have to be repeated every 72 hours.
Quick screenings will also be offered at the show and the air conditioning will be completely revised so as not to disperse the virus in the aisles. Finally, each visitor must install a dedicated tracking app on their smartphone. This promises a great atmosphere!
