Motorola will launch two foldable Razr smartphones next year

We don’t only know the Motorola Razr from the past; in 2020, a foldable smartphone from Motorola also appeared on the market under this name. Now it’s time for the next generation of foldable smartphones. Motorola plans to release two in 2023.

In our section ‘The forgotten phone’ we have already extensively discussed the legendary Motorola Razr V3. In 2020, the Motorola Razr appeared in a new jacket, as a real smartphone. Then this smartphone was positioned in the middle segment in terms of specifications. That should change this year. We expect this ‘soon’. The manufacturer indicated during the Edge 30 series announcement in Milan that the new Edge would come to Europe at a later date. It is the same Razr that has already been announced in China. This serves as a formidable competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Evan Blass, a well-known leaker in telecomland now has even more news about the Motorola Razr family. The brand is said to plan to present two Razr models in 2023. Internally, the code names Juno and Venus are used. The new model expected this year is codenamed Maven. It is not known which specifications and features the Razr devices will get. For example, the 2022 Razr is known to open like a clamshell, but it may well be that next year we can expect a Razr like the Z Fold 4, which opens like a book. It is also possible that Motorola has other plans, but that’s just looking at coffee grounds. This week, Motorola showed a concept smartphone with a rollable screen.
