Microsoft’s box for playing Xbox games on TV becomes clearer
Microsoft is still preparing a Chromecast-style box that you can connect to your TV to play Xbox games without having the console. This will be possible thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud). And according to VentureBeatthe release will take place within the next 12 months.
Playing Xbox games on TV without a console will be possible
Microsoft’s box is advertised as a palette. The product would visually resemble Google’s Chromecast, Amazon’s Fire TV or an equivalent range from Roku. It will allow you to play Xbox games, but not only. Indeed, it would also offer access to several streaming services to watch films and series.
Also, Microsoft is preparing a specific application so that certain connected televisions can access Xbox Cloud Gaming without the need for a third-party accessory. The group would work especially with Samsung so that the manufacturer offers the application on its televisions. She too would arrive within the next 12 months.
For his part, Tom Warren of The Verge reports that Microsoft’s product will have the particularity of letting users play the games they own thanks to the cloud, which is not possible today. Currently, the only games you can stream via xCloud are those available via Xbox Game Pass.
