Microsoft unexpectedly released an update for Windows 10. This means that an actually exclusive function of Windows 11 is also finding its way into the older operating system. The significantly drilled clock is thus also more interesting and useful under Windows 10.

Windows 10 gets clock from Windows 11

Actually, the Windows 11 clock with its practical additional functions should be an exclusive feature of the new operating system. However, Microsoft has now decided to make the drilled clock accessible to Windows 10 users. An update is currently being distributed that the clock including “focus sessions” without restrictions can also be used with Windows 10.

Via the sessions, users can individually define a distraction-free period. Once activated, applications and the operating system no longer bother you with notifications, so you can concentrate fully on the task at hand. Microsoft’s “To Do” can serve as a to-do list during this time. Optionally, a Spotify playlist can also be set as background music during the “focus sessions”.

Stopwatch, timer, alarm clock and world time are still available in the new watch app (source: dr Windows).

However, Microsoft didn’t put a lot of effort into the version for Windows 10. The design works almost completely as inherited from Windows 11, which doesn’t quite match the older operating system. Users of Windows 10 only have to do without rounded window corners, which is certainly tolerable.

Windows 10 continues to be popular with users

Although Windows 11 is available as a free upgrade, according to a current analysis, it only comes to one nine months after publication 23.1 percent market share for Windows PCs. Windows 10, on the other hand, remains popular with users, which may also have something to do with the hardware requirements of Windows 11.
