macOS Ventura will restore explainer videos for gestures
The macOS Ventura beta is currently available to developers and developers have noticed that the how-to videos for gestures have disappeared in System Settings (the new name for System Preferences). But they will come back with a future version.
Craig Federighi, the head of iOS and macOS, was asked about this during the talk show by John Gruber. He assures that a future beta of macOS Ventura will restore the explanatory videos for the gestures, by proposing “a new experience” according to his words.
These videos show in particular how to use the trackpad of your MacBook in order to use one or more fingers to perform a particular task. They are particularly useful for beginners. Craig Federighi was surprised at the question about the lack of videos, noting that this is the first beta and there is still time before we have the final version (due in the fall). But now he reassures and promises the return.

System Settings has also changed its interface compared to previous versions of macOS. Craig Federighi said that, despite what some may think, macOS Ventura’s Settings redesign was not largely inspired by iOS. The executive said the team’s main goal is consistency for users, saying system settings in macOS Ventura are a “awesome interface”.
