MacBook Air 2022: new design, Mini-LED, M2 chip, MagSafe and more
The 2022 MacBook Air will see several evolutions, like the MacBook Pro that Apple has just announced. According to the leaker Dylandkt, the general design of the laptop will change.
Lots of changes for the 2022 MacBook Air
Apple would offer a MacBook Air in 2022 that would be quite similar to the MacBook Pro just announced, at least visually speaking. It would still be thinner and would have white borders around the screen, as well as a keyboard with white keys. In comparison, it’s black on the MacBook Pro. Still in terms of design, Apple would offer several colors, like what we find on the iMac M1. There would also be the MagSafe port.
In addition, Apple would offer a 1080p webcam and function keys. However, there would be no SD card reader or HDMI port. As for performance, next year’s MacBook Air would be entitled to the M2 chip. This is quite logical in itself knowing that the existing model has the M1 chip.
Previous rumors have already revealed some details about the M2 chip. It would still have 8 cores for the processor part, but Apple would go to 9 or 10 cores for the graphics part (GPU), against 7 or 8 for the M1 chip.
The computer would also be entitled to a Mini-LED screen, like the new MacBook Pro. However, do not expect to have ProMotion technology. This automatically adapts the display rate (between 24 and 120 Hz) according to the current use. Other information with the price which would be a little higher.
Finally, the name: the next MacBook Air could be called… MacBook. In any case, it would be a reflection on the side of Apple.
