Linking Apple Watch to iPad or Mac: will that be possible soon?
The Apple Watch can currently only be paired with one iPhone. That may soon change, claims a leaker. You could also link your Apple Watch to a second iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Read on after the ad.
Pair Apple Watch with more devices
Until now, an Apple Watch can only be used in combination with an iPhone. It is true that there are some additional functions with the Apple Watch, such as Fitness + support on the iPad and unlocking your Mac, but in fact your Apple Watch only remains connected to your iPhone.
However, Apple is now working on a way to pair the Apple Watch with more devices than just a single iPhone. That’s what the leaker claims Analyst941 on Twitter. He previously had accurate information about the Dynamic Island, even before it was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro.
Apple Watch app for Mac and iPad?
That does raise a number of questions. Because would it then become possible to use an Apple Watch without an iPhone, if there is only one paired device? In that case, there should also be a Watch app for the iPad and macOS.
We also inquire iPhoned wonder how the synchronization will work with multiple devices. Do you need to manually connect the Apple Watch to multiple devices? Or is some kind of iCloud technology also possible, just like with the AirPods? You connect these to any Apple device, and then they are synced to all your other devices via iCloud.
Release still unclear
According to the leaker, it is still unclear when Apple wants to launch the new function for the Apple Watch. It is possible that it will already be built into iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS 14, but we could also have to wait until 2024. iPhoned will of course keep you informed.
